About Your Experience:

"This year was my first attempt to do the 3-Day Challenge and I was very nervous. The last 5 years I did the challenge in 3-weeks. Sadly a not very nice person started the Cranston Fire causing havoc to many homeowners and businesses in Idyllwild and its surrounding communities. My friends and I made our own very tough 3rd day hike on Monday (7/30) cause we had already taken the day off from work. Our fun "alternate" since all trails in San Jacinto was closed was hiking the 3-Tees from Icehouse Canyon. Besides gaining over 4700' it was a very humid and hot day on the trail.  And friends & husband that committed in hiking the 3 days with me were absolutely awesome. They are the best! Next year the 3-Days is on my bucket list since I know now that I can do the challenge. A big shout out to the first responders and firefighters. And thank you Adventure 16 for the annual challenge that we always look forward in doing."

Challenge Highlight:

"The planning of hotel arrangements then having to book last minute at another location due to the Cranston Fire. And getting excited in finally doing the Challenge in 3-Days then finding out that it was not meant to be. This is very minor compared to those affected by the fire not knowing if their homes or businesses will still be standing and most important their families and their well being. God bless to the firefighters for doing their best in keeping Idyllwild and communities intact as humanly possible."

Favorite Gear:

"All my gear to the smallest plays an important part in order for me to have a fun successful hike especially when I'm doing strenuous hikes. Osprey daypack and backpack. Osprey bladder. Trekking poles. Lowes mid-calf hiking boots. Darn tough socks. Shelta Seahawk brim hat. OR hiking gloves. Bandanas. 2Toms sport shield and so on."
