About Your Experience:

"Wow!!  We were in a conundrum. Our schedule did not allow a 3 day challenge because we got married in Alpine, and then we were off to do it again on the highest peak in Germany…Zugspitze (my honeybunch is from Bavaria). We also had fire lookout obligations on Taquitz. Thus our challenge  was scheduling the peaks. We needed a challenge (besides scheduling) for the peaks, so we decided to backpack each summit, camp on top (except San Jac…not allowed, so we camped at Little Round Valley) and enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. On San Jac, we fulfilled our fire lookout responsibilities and then backpacked from Taquitz. The West fire came within 20’ of the tower and we are ecstatic that it survived. Please visit."

Challenge Highlight:

"Enjoying the sunsets and sunrises was spectacular and having the summits to our selves was romantic...especially being newlyweds :o) However, we backpacked Baldy on 4JUL and were surrounded by fireworks after sunset.  It got chillier than expected, so we enjoyed seeing fireworks from our cozy tent with our wine."

Favorite Gear:

"Banana Bunkers!! Everyone needs a banana on the trail, but a squooshed one....yuk. Thus Banana Bunkers are  a must."
