EVENT: Three Passes of Everest – A Himalayan Trek

Posted by Adventure 16 | 02.01.2018

Come learn about the Three Passes of Everest Trek in Nepal. Adventure Traveler Lawrence Pallant will narrate a breathtaking slideshow set to music along with personal stories and information on how to take this extraordinary trek. The amazing grandeur of these mountains is sure to whet your appetite for undertaking an unforgettable trip.

In April of 2017, Lawrence Pallant put together a small group of adventurers and completed the Three Passes of Everest trek in 17 days. They spent 10 days above 15,000 feet, crossed three passes and climbed two peaks above 17,000 feet.
 Ama Dablam
Ama Dablam at 22,349 feet dominates the landscape for days. This peak is considered the most beautiful one of the Himalaya.

 Yak grazes on a ridge
On the way to Everest Base Camp, a yak grazes on a ridge with a calf hiding behind it.

 Mount Everest
The small village of Gokyo sits below one of the three high passes. As the group climbs toward the Renjo Pass, Mount Everest rises above other peaks in the region.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Lawrence PallantLawrence Pallant has been hiking and exploring the outdoors since the age of ten when his family moved to a home adjacent to thousands of acres of forested woodlands in Connecticut. Today, living in California, he considers the rocky, open vistas of the Sierra Mountains his backyard. When not hiking, you will find him teaching 3rd grade. He loves to inspire minds, especially outdoors, so for several years in conjunction with Adventure 16, he led an adventure club for older elementary students. He has completed several treks in Nepal over the past three years and plans to visit the mountains of Peru in the near future. At every step, camera in hand, he focuses on the landscapes and people he encounters.
