EVENT: Anza-Borrego 101: Part 2--Mountain Biking in Anza-Borrego Desert State ParkPosted by Adventure 16 | 01.18.2018
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California, with over 650,000 acres. The Park features stunning washes, palm groves, cacti and dramatic vistas. Over five hundred miles of dirt roads, free backcountry camping, and a thousand square miles of open hiking provide visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonders of the California desert. One activity in Anza Borrego that is gaining popularity? Mountain Biking!
Join Ashley as she guides you through the ups and downs, dos and don’ts, and highlights of mountain biking in a terrain often thought of as off-limits. A newcomer to mountain biking, Ashley has spent a lot of weekends planning and riding with her two mentors, Jim Roller and Gary Haldeman, leaders of Anza-Borrego Foundation’s wildly popular Bikes & Brews outreach series. Ashley will take time to outline some of the more fun and challenging routes as well as give a few notes of caution when it comes to riding in the desert.
