Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California, with over 650,000 acres. The Park features stunning washes, palm groves, cacti and dramatic vistas. Over five hundred miles of dirt roads, free backcountry camping, and a thousand square miles of open hiking provide visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonders of the California desert. During this talk, we will explore the plethora of 4x4 adventures the Park has to offer!
Specific Details: Join retired Colorado Desert District Superintendent and Anza-Borrego Foundation board member Mike Wells for a presentation about 4x4 adventures in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Mike will go over a few easy, moderate, and challenging routes, as well as give a few notes of caution when it comes to driving in the desert.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Mike Wells is a retired District Superintendent for the Colorado Desert District, which includes Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. During his 33 years with CA State Parks, Mike served in a variety of positions from Associate Resource Ecologist all the way up to District Superintendent, and now serves as a part-time consultant to the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Reforestation Project.
Mike has a home in Borrego Springs, and has a few stories to tell about people he’s met and found in 4x4 vehicles in the desert.
