John Drollinger is a third generation So Cal native and mountaineer. John’s Grandfather, Andy, founded Adventure 16 in his garage in La Mesa in 1962, so John has outdoor adventure in his blood. John was born and raised in the mountain community of Lake Arrowhead, CA, and grew up ski racing, rock climbing, and mountain biking in his local community and the Eastern Sierra. His first ascent of San Gorgonio was a one-day winter climb when he was 9 years old; he faintly remembers the climb, but distinctly remembers where he threw up afterward! He has now made over 50 ascents in the Sierra and Cascades., and worked professionally as a ski instructor and mountain guide.

John is now an independent sales rep for Marmot and several other outdoor Brands. He organizes the infamous 8,000 Meter Challenge dealer event, where outdoor retailers climb the Three Saints in a day, competing as a team to earn the coveted “Summit Party Trophy.” He is married to Rachel and has four adventurous children
